About award

SIBUR Holding established the IQ-CHem contest in 2010. As of today, SIBUR is Russia’s largest integrated gas processing and petrochemical company. More than 1,000 projects have been submitted by aspirants within the five-year history of the contest. From 2016 IQ-CHem has new open format to attract leading chemical corporations and venture funds seeking cooperation opportunities with promising startups, teams and university projects. Despite that there is a prize pool of $55,000, travel cost reimbursement and possibility to have a face-to-face meeting with the industry experts for winning teams.

    Are finalists reimbursed for logistic expenses?

    Answer:

    Finalists who do not live in Russia, the CIS and Baltic republics are reimbursed for air travel expenses (up to $600 for Asian countries and $500 for the rest of the world) and accommodation expenses (3*)

    Answer:

    Everyone is welcome.

    Does my application for the contest entail any obligations?

    Answer:

    By filling your application, you bear no obligations in the field of intellectual property or any other. Only the finalists undertake to participate in in-person events of the contest (three days).

    Who appraises projects?

    Answer:

    An expert council comprising of SIBUR specialists, contest partners, investment funds and other field-specific experts.

  • Question:

    Does the organizer provide visa support?

    Answer:

    Contestants shall receive visas on their own, the organizer will provide them with invitations to be submitted to a consular department.
